‘If ever I had been good for anything,’ Aubrey said, ‘twould have been a Painter’. Kate Bennett will illustrate the rich variety of visual material to be found in Aubrey's manuscripts as well as his rôle as a commissioner and collector of art, and the contrast between remembering and forgetting, on which the ‘prospect drawing’ depends.
