Dr Williams's teaching and research interests lie mainly in the politics and literature of the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century; eighteenth century poetic miscellanies and popular reception history; obliteration and the revision of eighteenth century texts; letterwriting, and the material text; the development of poetics and the literary canon in the eighteenth century; excerpts and fragments; textual criticism. She convenes the Restoration to Reform seminar, the Faculty's eighteenth-century graduate research seminar, currently held at St Peter's College. She has just completed an edition of Jonathan Swift’s Journal to Stella for Cambridge University Press’s multi-volume Collected Works of Jonathan Swift. It will come out in early 2013, along with four additional articles relating to the edition. She is also currently leading the Digital Miscellanies Index, a 3 year Leverhulme-funded research project which will create a database of the contents of the 1000 or so poetic miscellanies published during the course of the eighteenth century.
